Project "Violence against women as a social problem"

The project was implemented in 1998-1999.

Aim of the project: to inform population of Belarus about the problem of domestic violence in Belarus, providing consultations for women in crisis situation, teaching young women self-defense methods.

Project activities:

• organization of information event "International day against violence against women";
• sociological research of the spread of violence against young women;
• educational seminar for students-volunteers of the project;
• organization of information event "Week without violence against women";
• press-conference for journalists;
• free-of-charge consultations of lawyer and psychologists for women in crisis;
• trainings on self-defense for young women.
