The results of the art contest “Man and woman: equal rights – equal opportunities” in 2009.

On the 5th of April  the winners of the art contest “Man and woman: equal rights – equal opportunities” in 2009 were named.

From February 20 till March 31, 2009 we have held the art contest “Man and woman: equal rights – equal opportunities” in frames of the joint Swedish-Belarusian project “Youth in development”. The artistic works admitted to the contest were independently created by the young people 14 to 18 years old. The contents of the works should have reflected the understanding of gender equality, necessity to have equal rights and equali opportunities for men and women in various spheres of family and social life. There were three categories: 1) literature 2) art 3) photo.

Thirty works were submitted by 24 persons from Mozyr (Gomel region), Baran, Novopolotsk, Vysokoe village (all in Vitebsk region), Radoshkovichy (Minsk region), Minsk, Smorgon and Slonim (Grodno region) – 6 boys and 18 girls. The most successful were works in “art” category because students of the art school from Novopolotsk took an active part in the contest.  

After the results of the contest were evaluated, the following persons were announced as winners.

In the categoryLiterature”:

     1 prize – Masha Savitskaya from Radoshkovichy, 14 years old, for the complex work “Garden of my life” (essay and photo)

2 prize – Dasha Degis from Smorgon for the poem “From ordinary life”, 17 years old 

     3 prize – Ludmila Demidenko, Vysokoe, poem “Gender dialogue”, 17 years old 

In the category “Art” 

   1 prize – Aleksandr Garnyk, Novopolotsk, for the painting “Equality of a man and a woman, 15 years old. 

    2 prize – Dana Antanovich, Novopolotsk, painting “There are equal opportunities even in space”, 14 years old.

  3 prize – Inga Lappo, Minsk, poster-collage “Right and opportunities”, 14 years old. 

In the category “Photo” only the second prize was given to Sergei Bubovich from Novopolotsk for the photo montage “It’s happier together”, 14 years old. 

On Sunday, April 5th  all winners were invited to YWCA of Belarus National Headquarters for celebration and handing of prizes. During the tea party organizers and winners had an opportunity to talk to each other. Later that day all winners were invited to see the new movie “Taras Bulba”.
