"Domestic violence: problem and solutions"

The brochure "Domestic violence: problem and solutions" was published
by YWCA of Belarus in December 2008. The brochure was printed in
frames of the Swedish-Belarusian project in frames of the
commemoration of 16 days against gender violence. It contains
information about domestic violence as a social problem, its forms,
and scale in Belarus. There are also typical stories of women, who
survived domestic violence and their strategies of behavior as well as
comments from psychologist.
The results of the original social and economic study of the costs of
the consequences of violence against women born by individuals and
society, which was implemented in Belarus in 2008, are especially
interesting. There is also an article about the draft Law on domestic
violence prevention.
The brochure will be of special interest for the representatives of
the legislative bodies, specialists and public human rights protection
NGOs, as well as for anyone who is concerned with the problem of
violence in families.
